MAPPING THE

CREATIVE MIND

[June 2025]

This interdisciplinary project explores the dynamic tension between chaos and structure through the interplay of print and digital media.

At its core lies a conceptual publication that visually and typographically reflects the fine boundary where control begins to dissolve into unpredictability. Instead of traditional pagination, the print work follows a self-developed navigation system inspired by mathematical constants such as the Feigenbaum number and the Lorenz attractor. Chapters are interconnected through cross-references embedded in a wide margin that also symbolizes the threshold to disorder.

Complementing the analog experience is a digital counterpart: an interactive website that extends and reinterprets the content through motion, interaction, and custom-coded visualizations. Developed in Processing and translated to the web, these visual experiments allow users to actively engage with key ideas of the project–from fractal patterns and recursive structures to playful challenges that test the user’s tolerance for disorder.

Together, the print and web components form a continuous system: static and dynamic, structured and fluid, analytical and experiential. By using two contrasting media, the project becomes an invitation to reflect on how we perceive, manage, and even create chaos in our own lives, especially in creative processes—experience the interactive part of the project here: [structure and chaos]
